More about Salsa:

Historically salsa finds its roots in Cuba, where the African rhythms brought there by slaves mixed with various forms of popular Spanish music, which resulted in a number of different styles. The world salsa literally means sauce, and indicates the mixing of various ingredients to obtain a new, rich flavour. Contrary to common belief though, what is today called salsa did not develop in the Caribbean, but in New York, in the 70s, among its rapidly increasing Latino population. From there it spread back to Cuba and Puerto Rico where it was destined to continue its development, producing possibly the best salsa musicians and dancers in the world. This initiated a 2 way cultural exchange between the Caribbean and the States that is still very much alive today.

Salsa can be a very sensual dance, where through body movement, dancers express their emotions. It is a very passionate dance and seeing a professional salsa dancers on the dance floor is truly captivating.

More about Bachata:

Originating from the Dominican Republic, Bachata has become one of the most popular Latin Dance styles around the world. Characterised by its eccentricity and unique flair, Bachata is unlike any other Latin Dance style, and it’s known for its sexy moves and easy to learn approach.

In the early days, the music used for Bachata was guitar music played by peasants and was often slow, sad and romantic. These days, Bachata has gotten more upbeat and incorporated electronic sounds.

More about Zouk:

Zouk has captured the hearts of many people around the world and has recently started being called "the dance of love". With its strong, flowing movements, zouk attracts people who are generally strong and grounded, and looking for a dance that emphasizes interdependent partner interaction to create .

Also known as "Zouk-Lambada", Brazilian Zouk is a sensual partner dance with origins in Lambada (aka "the Forbidden Dance") and danced to "Zouk" rhythms made popular in the French Caribbean. These days the dance has developed deeply with influences in classical dance, street dance and other partnered styles (Forro, Samba, Salsa, etc.). The music that we dance to has also evolved with the introduction of various genres of music (i.e. hip hop, R&B, pop) that have similar rhythmic structures and/or a danceable lyrical component.
